The Coalition was founded in May 2014 at a meeting of Brands during the INTA conference. Based in Singapore and with partners in over 30 Asian countries, ACACAP provides local expertise, proactive investigations and enforcement actions to protect brands against counterfeiting and grey market diversion.
ACACAP was founded to be a single point of contact in Asia for brands wishing to engage with ethical service providers, within a framework of best practice. It would be a forum to discuss alternative solutions to counterfeiting and piracy across the whole region.
The coalition quickly expanded and developed its scope. A focus on proactive strategies was implemented to identify the ‘cause’ of counterfeiting and piracy, and to implement creative solutions to disrupt and dismantle infringers operations.
To achieve the goals of the coalition, partners are selected to fit a criteria that follows best practice, and more importantly, they are results driven.
